My friend Charsti has a sister named Scott.
I believe the story is that her dad wanted a boy so badly that when the third and final baby turned out to be yet another girl, he decided that, dagnabbit, if he couldn't have a boy, he would at least have a child with a boy's name.
So, the baby girl Scott was named.
At dinner Saturday night, Charsti's daughter, Micah, who just graduated from college, confessed that it wasn't until she was in junior high that she realized that the only people she knew at school named Scott were boys. She couldn't think of one other girl besides her aunt that was named Scott.
How 'bout you? You know any girls named Scott?
No girl named Scott, but I have heard of a boy named Sue (Dave and I are big fans of the man in black). I did know someone named Timothia. It was a similar situation. Dad wanted a Timothy and got a Timothia. Everyone called her Timmy.

I bet it so fits her too - funny how those things happen! I guess I would have thought it was short for something.

cute story. I knew a girl Alex very well, but Scott is a name that I have never heard of being given to a girl :)
